(ALH Live!) -- In every generation, there is an individual who comes along who is both visible and invisible, both vocal and silent; someone who is powerful by virtue of their innate talents and skills and yet so willing to serve.
Michael "Buffalo" Smith is just such a man.
Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, Michael Smith is affectionately known as the Ambassador of Southern Rock to members of legendary bands like the Allman Brothers and several generations of die-hard southern rockers. His laid back, gracious demeanor has made it easy for celebrities like Billy Bob Thornton and Robert Duvall to call him friend.
Even so, it must be understood that life hasn't been easy for Smith. Yet in spite of his many challenges, the reading and writing enthusiast refuses to give up.
"I've had to overcome a lot of health issues ... but with the good Lord's help I'm making it through." Smith said in reference to recent challenges which have culminated in him having to undergo multiple corrective laser procedures for his eyes. "You gotta do what you gotta do ... either that or give up and I am not one to give up."
With multiple writing and high-profile musical collaborative projects in the works, Smith has plenty on his plate to keep him focused, determined and in a progressive state of mind. And in spite of any challenges he may face, it is a certainty that this gentle giant will be around for a long time to come.
